Too often we bask in our comfortable complacency and rationalize that the ravages of war, economic disaster, famine, and earthquake cannot happen here. Those who believe this are either not acquainted with the revelations of the Lord, or they do not believe them. Those who smugly think these calamities will not happen, that they somehow will be set aside because of the righteousness of the Saints, are deceived and will rue the day they harbored such a delusion. - Ezra Taft Benson

Fear Not, I Am With Thee; Oh, Be Not Dismayed

Many times in my life I have had this verse come to mind as an answer to prayer.  It's comforted me more times than I can name.  The Lord wants us to put our trust in Him.  He has not given us the spirit of fear.  He desires to help us as we prepare in all ways (temporally, spiritually, emotionally etc.) for the return of His Son.  That would be His greatest joy; to know that we walk in His light and truth.

"Fear not, I am with thee; oh, be not dismayed,
For I am thy God and will still give thee aid.
I’ll strengthen thee, help thee, and cause thee to stand,
Upheld by my righteous, omnipotent hand."
